Newcastle United Change

My greatest and fondest memory at St James' Park is Shearer's testimonial. He didn't play in the game but all 52,387 fans had been given black and white scarves and this helped to create the greatest atmosphere I have ever experienced in any match. The players stopped playing to look at the crowd waving their scarves in the air and when Shearer came on to take a penalty in the 89th minute the ground erupted. The memories still bring me tears of joy, even though it was seven years ago.

I have framed everything from that night. My shirt has been signed, as has my captains arm band which I wore that night. My programme and scarf are also framed in one complete collection. I also have the limited edition bottles of brown ale I bought that night framed. (I have attached a photo of my memorabilia) I wake up everyday remembering that amazing night, looking at the memorabilia on my wall. It was a truly fantastic experience for all that were there.

Nice read. Shearer's testimonial was my son, Luke's first match. He's with me all the time now. Happy days.
