When I was at the Allianz Arena to see Chelsea win the Champions League on penalties in Munich 2012. Special moment.

When shirt numbers were introduced for One Day International cricket, Alec chose the number 4 shirt in honour of his favourite Chelsea player when growing up, John Hollins and kept the shirt throughout his career.

Alec made his first class debut for Surrey in 1981 and remained at the club until his retirement in 2003. He is the most capped England cricketer of all time with 133 caps and also played in 170 ODI's and was the highest Test run scorer in the world during the 90's. Alec was the Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1993 and was awarded the MBE in 1998 and OBE in 2003. Alec is the Club Ambassador for Surrey CCC.
